Ship Shoal 253
Ship Shoal 253 field is located in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 km offshore from the state of Louisiana, and lies in about 180 feet of water depth. The field was originally developed during the 1970s, and continues to produces the oil and gas that is in-place up against a large salt dome feature. Numerous undeveloped drilling targets have been identified in this field. Providence holds a varying non-operated interest in the currently producing wells, and also holds the right to participate in future drilling on this lease.
The field is currently shut-in while hurricane repairs are finalised, and production is expect to resume in Q4 2009 at rates of about 250 boepd net to Providence.
