Tom O’Brien is a qualified solicitor and a member of the Law Society of Ireland. Tom has over 10 years experience working in the projects and construction department of a leading Irish law firm. In that time he advised on most of the largest construction projects in Ireland. Tom has extensive experience from drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide variety of contracts in the infrastructure, renewable energy and private development sectors. He is a law graduate of University College Cork and also holds a Masters Degree in Law from University College London as well as a Diploma in Construction Law from Trinity College Dublin.
Douglas has 13 years experience in the energy sector. He graduated from Bristol with a BSc Hons degree in Environmental Science & Resource Management. Previously worked for Alkane Energy, Energy Finance and Vessels Coal Gas prior to joining Providence in 2009.
Donal has over 8 years of experience in the international oil and gas industry. He began his career with ExxonMobil, where he gained significant experience working ExxonMobil's operated North Sea assets as a Reservoir Engineer. Donal is a graduate of University College Dublin, with a B.Eng (1st Hons) in Chemical Engineering, and is an Associate Member of the IChemE, Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and Alumni of the London Business School.
Fergus has over 16 years International Oil and Gas Industry experience both onshore and offshore including the UK, Europe, Africa and USA. Previously working for a leading multinational service provider he provided technical and management services expertise for a diverse variety of national and multinational companies and projects. He has extensive experience in all levels of operations covering drilling, production, seismic survey acquisition, HSEQ, project management and support. Fergus’s current duties include the management, scheduling and safe execution of all field operations to ensure the continued increase of production to maintain the company’s core business and future growth. Fergus is a graduate of DIT, Bolton Street with a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a BEng Hons Degree from the University of Paisley, Scotland. Member of Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Keith Byrne is a geophysicist with nine years' industry experience with PGS and Newfield. He has worked extensively on North Sea and Atlantic Margin acreage and has played a key role in several seismic acquisition, processing and inversion projects. He has completed an additional two years training in tax, accountancy and audit and has significant experience in IT infrastructure and database management. He is responsible for geophysical interpretation on Providence licences and new venture projects. He has a Geology degree from Trinity College Dublin and is a member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain.
Anne Marie Smyth is a Geologist with 9 years’ experience having obtained a B.Sc. in Geology from U.C.C., Ireland and a Masters in Petroleum Sedimentology from Reading University, UK. She joined Providence in 2003, and was previously employed by Troy-Ikoda Limited. She is responsible for geological interpretation on Providence licences and new venture projects. Annemarie is a member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain.
Kris is a Senior Production Engineer. He joined Providence in 2008. He has 11 years' offshore and onshore drilling, completion and production experience. Kris graduated from Heriot-Watt with MEng in Petroleum Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer and member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Simon Brett is a qualified accountant with over 16 years work experience. He worked in the UK for over 7 years and has travelled extensively throughout Europe. His background is from Manufacturing, Telecommunication and Entertainment industries where he has gained a wealth of diverse experience within European Finance functions. He returned to Ireland in 2003 and took up the role of Financial Controller with an Irish Company before taking up his current role within Providence Resources P.l.c. in February 2008.
Jakub is a Cartographer and GIS Specialist. He graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland with MSc in the field of geography, specialization of hydrology, meteorology and climatology in 2004. He joined Providence in August 2005 as a Cartographic Assistant. Since mid 2008 he has been working as a Production Assistant. He previously worked for telecommunication companies, both Polish and Irish.
Asia - New Opportunities.
Tony Odone, the former Chief Operating Officer, now heads up the company’s efforts in Asia. He has more than 30 years' experience in field front end evaluations and the design, drilling, construction and operation of offshore and related onshore facilities. He has been extensively involved in the early North Sea developments with Phillips, Shell, Occidental and Marathon together with follow on ancillary prospects appraisals. Later international involvement was in India, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines and Australia. He is a graduate of Queen Mary College, London University, a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Society of Petroleum Engineers and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors. He has provided the industry with numerous innovative technical and commercial solutions which have become adopted practices.
